Lisa Perkins, a long time darter, died unexpectedly last Saturday. Please keep Lisa, her husband Tim and their son Hunter in your prayers. The following is the obituary:
Lisa A. Perkins, 46, passed away unexpectedly February 13, 2010, at her residence. The rosary will be prayed 5:00 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2010, at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 4101 E. 105th Terrace, Kansas City, MO 64137. Visitation will follow until 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Church. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Catherine of Siena Parish. Lisa was born February 8, 1964, at North Kansas City Hospital. She graduated from St. Catherine School and Bishop O'Hara High School. Lisa was a medical assistant at Ear, Nose & Throat Associates. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. Lisa is survived by her husband, Tim Perkins; her son, Hunter Perkins; step-son, Tyler Perkins; her father, Samuel R. Santee, III; brother, Samuel R. Santee, IV; sisters, Sheryl R. Santee and Tina Johnson; father and mother-in-law, Leo and Tillie Perkins; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. (Arrangements: Muehlebach Funeral Home, 816.444.2060.)
501 Qualifier Dates and Times
The upcoming 501 qualifier dates and times are coming up at the end of the month. The winner of the qualifier will have their entry feed paid to the regional tournament. Men and Women will play different dates to help with chalking. The entry fee depends on the number of participants. 8+ players will pay $8.00 each and if fewer than 8 participate, the entry fee will be $15.00. You do not have to be a WDFA member to play, but you will need to be a member to use the money to advance to the regional. If you choose to use player money to advance and you are NOT a WDFA member, you may sign up for the ADO through the WDFA for $10.00. You then will be eligible for those funds. The dates, locations and times for the qualifiers are:
Saturday Feb. 27th Women at Post 256 3pm
Sunday Feb. 28th Men at Post 256 noon
Saturday Mar. 6th Women at Post 256 3pm
Sunday Mar. 7th Men at Post 256 noon
Saturday Mar. 13th Men at Post 256 3pm
Saturday Mar. 14th Women at Geezers 11am
Again we are requesting that women chalk for men and vice versa on the seperate dates.
Chilipalooza!!!! - April 3rd
From the desk of H.L. - The date for the ChiliPalooza is set. The date that was available at the American Legion was Saturday, April 3rd. I hope that works out for everybody. I am looking forward to another great ChiliPalooza so get your crockpots ready to Ruuuuummmmbbbbbbbllllle! I have attached a flyer and a link directly to the ChiliPalooza webpages. I have not put in the gallery photos so the links to those donít work yet but all you need to get going is there. If you are planning on making chili please let me know so I can have some idea of a head count. I also need a few judges so let me know if you are interested. First come first serve. Lots of New Tournaments Posted
Check out our tournament page for lots of new local and regional tournaments. Joplin Tri State Open, Sooner Open, North Texas Shoot-Out, Music City Classic and a benefit tournament in Bentonville are all posted/fortified with 7 whole grains and FLYERS!!! More are being added all the time, so check back often! Having a tourny and don't see one... give it to me!

New leagues are forming soon. There are a variety of leagues for every skill level and every player! YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A DART FROG MEMBER TO PLAY!. CLICK HERE for all the details. Some of the leagues being offered are:
Ladies A and B Leagues - Tuesdays @ Sidepockets - Pay per Win
Open C League - Mondays @ Sidepockets - Pay per Win
Open B League - Thursdays @ Sidepockets - Top 4 Pay
Open A League - Wednesdays @ 256 - Top 3 Pay
FUN Leagues - Wednesdays @ Sidepockets - No payback (rotating couples)
Again, please CLICK HERE for all the details on ALL the leagues. There is a lot of information and obviously we can't put it all on our front page! Start dates are firm. No schedule adjustments will be made once league play begins. Please make sure you know your commitments before joining a league. A, B, and C leagues are seperated by skill-level. Please choose appropriately as no adjustments will be made based on performance once leagues begin. You may access the current league information and stats on our league page to help in your decision. Leagues are a great way to improve your skills and play with a great bunch of people. Again, YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A DART FROG MEMBER TO PLAY. Leagues are open to any person wanting to play darts in a fun competitive environment.
League Moderators Needed
With the large ammount of leagues starting and the great response; moderators are needed to ensure league play is smooth and stats are updated. If you are playing on a league and wouldn't mind moderating, please let Christy or Dan know. All that the moderator needs to do is:
1) Collect all dues and give to Christy Zimmerman. (checks can be written to Wichita Dart Frogs)
2) Have players and/or yourself record all accomplishments. ( high out, 5,7,9 count, high ton, low ton, 180, lizard out, frog out, etcÖ)
3) Make sure all sheets are accounted for and in its proper folder for pick-up by Christy
4) Communicate with players (make-ups, dues, make sure players know if someone canít make it, etc..)
5) Write short article for monthly newsletter about league and players
6) And anything else I or you might think of
New Friday Night Steel-Tip Blind Draw!!!
Friday nights just got a whole lot better! Geezers Grub and Pub is now sponsoring a Friday night blind draw EVERY WEEK. Geezer's is located on the SW corner of Meridean and Pawnee (The Old Crazy Horse Supperclub). It has been completely remodeled and includes a giant screen TV among others.
